What would be involved in fitting a glide into my 83 LTD, the box comes with a c10 bellhousing mated to it so it will bolt up just after info regarding crossmember and fitting issues?

sorry I forgot to say. I had a custom crossmember made up by Barney of Barney's Exhausts. No idea on cost but will let you know when I get the bill. I almost got my car back today. Still playing on the dyno.

You can use a standard cross member depending on what extractors your using. I'm pretty sure 4-2-1's will work without issues. [edit] Standard crossmember needs the bolt holes elongtated a few mm.

Should also add if you have 4->1 extractors they may foul the glides pan. Passenger side @ the linkage and driverside completely fouls the pan.

Custom turbo setup so no worries with exhaust fitment, good to hear the std crossmember will fit, I was thinking of getting a glide from either Hugo's race glides or Al's race glides.

I was thinking 5500$ should cover the box and converter.

Brenx- let us know what your conversion cost you and also details about what went into the box.

Thats a bit much but you have to pay for their name. Box/convertor/adaptor is $4700-4800.

I got my car back to today and paid for most of the bill. The crossmember and exhaust work were put into one bill.

The extractors were modified to fit past the glide/crossmember built and 18"*2 of 2.5" pipe was used. Inc labour the bill was $850.

The total bill inc every nut bolt etc was $6400 to put a glide in my car.

sweet, 6400$ not bad really, some places quoted 4500$ just for a C4.

what exactly went into the box you had built?

The box is built to handle 1000hp with transbrake. Box alone is $3000-$3200. It's a KB automatics built glide.

ltd351 my powergldie with transbrake cost me around 2300 with adapter and cross member mad up, converter set me back 1350.
so total is owes me $3650
