I have just had a couple of quotes done to get my diff changed to LSD.
The best price I got is about $1000, to keep my ratio, but change the centre to LSD, shim it up a bit, machine 2 small holes somewhere to let extra diff oil in somewhere, and change the carrier bearings. I have to take the diff out, and pull the brakes/axles out as well, I can do that.
So is that a good price, has anyone had a similar thing done, and if so how much???
Thanks

sounds like a bit of a rip to me....and as for ford wanting $800 for one of their LSD centres, I think you should tell them where to stick it...and its not in a diff either...
I enquired about diffs in sydney, and roughly for any gears you want and LSD your up for around $1000...fully fitted incl warranty on exchange basis. (admitedly some places were more, and some were less, but on average they were $1000)
ok, you could probably pick up an entire diff out of a smashed XR for less than $1000, though its not something i've really looked into. That would give you around a 3.46 ratio lsd.
Yeah, I have a Borg Warner/BTR diff, some other place said the LSD centres are $500, which is still a rip-off I think.
I haven't really looked into a 9", until someone said above. How much would one of these be? I would imagine similar price to most 9" conversions, as they only have to weld the mounts in the right spots.

I just had a look in Street machine, and there is a place that do 9" conversions from $950, with 2.75 open centre. A 3.25 LSD is about $300ish, so a 9" works out to be slightly more expensive, but it's a 9"

Was looking into a LSD for my EBII recently. Got a quote from a place here in Brisbane for $650 for a factory NIB. If you like I could find out more from them i.e. what exactly is it, will it take a flogging from a 5.0 etc. Will be talking to them early next week anyway...your call.
