The Uni's are different.
I need bigger "U Bolts" for the new set up
A different brake cable.
And possibley a new brake booster(some most say i can retain the same one)
The rest just bolts in basicly... As far as i can gather

I sell bearings for a living, and just converted for a guy last week. All you need is a uni on the diff end, which is a half of a RUJ-2038(tailshaft side) and half of a RUJ-2039(diff yolk half) . The partnumber for special uni is RUJ-2029. Go see a CBC Bearings oulet with this number and all should be good. Ideally, you should get a tailshaft suited to a 9 inch, as the unis in them are stronger (outside clips), but with an auto it should hold up. Dion.

They are pretty rare (like hens teeth) and getting a tailshaft made up is also hard as you need the front and rear sections before they'll make you a shaft. Finding an original 9" shaft is hard because who'd sell their tailshaft? It's not like you wouldn't need it.
I am going to get one made. The company i work for bought the Hardy Spicer company about 3 years ago. That is where i will order my stuff. I got the materials to make a new shaft for a mate, who put a 9 inch in a v6 Hilux, and it all worked out good. Just got to select the right tubing, weld yolks(2) and a slip yolk for the gearbox. maybe a new spline yolk for the diff, if you go large uni series.
Some of us are just a tad fussier than others I'm a whatever works kind of person. No point putting your self out to achieve the same result.
Cheers,
Brenden
