can any one tellme if an AU DIFF would fit into an EL?

If you are only loading the centre there shouldnt be any issue. If you are changing the housing, it is wider.
The centre is the same as the XF onwards...8" crown. Used to be borgwarner, then Eaton and now Dana

as above, should all be ok, except you would gain a fair bit of track at the back end - tyres might not clear the guards.

How much wider is it, would it be ok of you used AU wheels?

yeah if you used AU wheels it would be OK - but you cant fit AU wheels to the front because the wheel offset makes the top of the wheel/tyre hit the upright. :S
