Quick EB2 manual conversion question!

If I convert my EB 2 4 speed auto to a manual is it possible to trick the computer to get it running okay or do I need a manual ECU or something?
I couldnt find what I needed to know in a search.

Also will an EA manual box bolt up okay?

EA box will bolt up. Car will run without computer mods but can act up at times. Computer can be tricked using resistors, but a factory manual computer is best.

Plays up as in eratic idle and lil low in revs now and then nothing to serious .

White EB11, T5 Manual, Pacemaker Extracters 4499, Highflow cat,2 1/2 system redback muffler,CAI, K&N,17's,lowered

I cant see you having any problems with a wolf3d setup.

My EF with a 5 speed and an auto computer would act wierd at idle. By wierd I mean it would idle anywhere from 500-1500 rpm depending on the tide and the direction of the wind. I have read all sorts of reasons why this happens, but the computer basically was trying to adjust for an auto gearbox that wasn't there. I managed to find a manual computer 2 weeks after the conversion and after the switch everything was fine.

I am also running a auto computer in my car...

Its really strange, i originally bought a 2nd hand EA 5 Speed for the conversion, and the idle NEVER played up at all... It was perfect. After about 6 weeks I went to get the gearbox rebuilt, and it was completely cactus, so I got a new one. Ever since then I have had a funny idle. It goes between 1000-1100 rpm at idle.

Rollin had to do something to trick it to think it was in neutral or something. One problem we had was that the car wouldnt start, but we had reverse lights, and then we could get the car to start, but have no reverse lights... A little adjustment by the "King" (Rollin) and it was beautiful.

The EA box is the weakest T5, so if you are going to be putting some horse'ies through it you may have problems down the track.

My box is a combination of XR6T and V8 internals. Its good for over 200 rwkw.

Rollin and I havent had a chance to fix it as yet.

If you dont have smartlock, Rollin has a Manual XR computer, which he may sell. I am going to give it a try and see if it stops the idle problem, but seeing it doesnt have smartlock I am not wanting to keep it permanently.
