Hello, my name is Josh and Iam 16 years old. Iam currently restoring a '69 Mach 1. Iam prob. going to end up asking alot of dumb questions but by the time Iam done with the car I will know it inside and out.

So my first question is, can anyone tell me if this is a 8 or a 9. Thanks in advance.

Awesome, if I can find casting numbers on it would it be possible for me to find out exactly what gears are in it and such?

Hi Mustang_Kid, it's good to see young peolpe getting into classic Mustangs rather than the usual ricer cars.
If your car still has the original data plate on the left door, you can cross reference all the codes (including original axle ratio) here

Thanks Thunder. Just ran down to the barn to look at the tag. If nobody has touched the rear end it has 3.25 gears. and is for sure a 9. One more thing, this is another dumb question Iam going to ask but...I can turn either tire without the other spinning, what exactly does that mean? Thanks again guys.
