I have a rear axle from an EA Falcon, I was wondering how would I go about removing the crownwheel and centre assembly without the use of a seperator tool? I have the axle shafts out, just cant work out how the heck to get the centre out.

Thanks guys

greetings Assface
just as wbt56 said you will probably find that it is the shims on the side of the bearings that is holding it in there

if the gears have chips on them it sounds like it's time to scrap them & get enother set

i have heard of people putting one end of the diff in a vice, and hanging something heavy (like 20kg) off the other end, and apparently that seperates it enough to be able to remove them fairly easily - i wouldnt know though, i have never done it.
