Removing Gear Selector

This is probably very simple but i thought i would ask anyway

There is what appears to be a nut jus below the auto gear handle, i am assuming i need to undo this to remove the gear selector

Would this be right ?

yerp, go for it!
wont remove the shaft though from memory, just the knob

yeah from memory there is also a screw convered by a bit of plastic behind the gear selector.
