Replacing a Torque Coverter

Has anybody had an experience with replacing a torque converter. I beleive that I have some bad valves on the TC. I have a 99 expedition.

If anybody can give me some feed back I would appreciate it.

Also, may I have some input on code readers? Which is the best? Which ones should I stay away from?
