Hi, i was wanting a shift kit on my car, but im not sure if they can be put on a carby, as i've seen on the net the they connect up to the ECU or something?, so does that mean they Can't be ran on a carby engine?

The shift kit that attaches to the ECU is for electronic boxes.
You most likely have a hydraulic transmission.
There would be shift kits available to you.

Do you know what kind of trans you have?

Shift kits are available for most automatics and what ever is in your XD is definately available. Go to Pro Automatics in Dandenong, they'll be able to help you.

A shift kit makes it change into the next gear HARDER. A good shift kit will make the wheels chirp into second, and a real good set up with lots of power will chirp into drive. They are better for racing, as there is no slip into the next gear and it will make the car lurch forward into the next gear. For the street, and in between one is usuall good. All they usually are is a set of springs, and a small mod to the valve body to change oil pressures when shifting gears.
