I have an 03 ranger edge 4.0 w/ 5sp manual.I bought it with 900 miles on the clock. It was returned to the dealer by the previous owner who bought it new.After about a week of driving it, I noticed a loud metalic tap like metal to metal when shifted from gear to gear.I also notice it gets hard to shift somtimes.So I brought it in for service and they replaced the drive shaft, rebuilt the rear end,and replaced the yoke. All on seperate visits.After all this the noise is still there.Is anyone having these problems? Is this the way it suppost to sound ? Very disapointed.

I have no idea what a Ranger Edge is, but does it have a cable or hydraulically operated clutch? If it's cable try adjusting it, it's possible the clutch isn't fully disengaging.
