Can anyone tell me if the BTR T50D 5 speed mannual gearbox requires special thin oil to make selecting a gear easier? I often cannot get into 1st, it feels like the clutch is enguaged but its not.

The most difficult time is when the car is stationary. Is a little easier when rolling slowly. Box has only done 15,000K.

More research indicates the problem will be solved with Dexon 111 trans fluid or redline oil. These boxes apparently have fine tolerances and thick oil just stops the gear selectors sliding freely.

Sounds more like a clutch release problem.

I use Castrol Transmax Z , Its a ATF Fluid but u dont need the lubrizol additive for the baulking of the rings. Its fully synthetic and green in colour

Works well, Havent had any issues and shifts soooooooooooooooooooo smooth
