i got a C6 put in and 3.79 gears. my speedo is about 20 to 30 klm off.
What can i do to adjust it?

Drive faster!

You can change the small plastic cog on the speedo sender. They come in various colours and have different # of splines.

Or if you're driving an XD/XE I'll tell you about the secret screw!!

The XD onwards has an electronic speedo and sender.

You can turn a small screw in the back of the speedo that will give you about +/- 40km/h of adjustment. This saves having to fit a different speedo cog which may not be exact anyway.

Just borrow a handheld GPS, cruise at 100km/h on the freeway and adjust the screw until speedo reads correctly.

You may need to pull off the small factory calibration sticker which covers the hole.

I'm guessing BigPapa351 has an older mechanical setup with drive cable.

where would you get the speedo drives these days

We put a 21 tooth one in a mates car with 3.7's to get the speedo right. They are avilable from Ford or Rarespares etc. I had the same issue but Ford don't seem to have a cog to suit 4.11's.

I've been lucky the my recent trans conversions put me back to reading around 5-10k's fast I'm happy about that.

Some wreckers may have some (if Rare Spares are asking rediculous prices). Make sure its an IDENTICAL shape to your current one (other than less teeth). I've been sold similar ones that have chewed out my output shaft cog.

Different colours are made for different gears. Don't recall right now, but as Brenx said, try about 21 teeth.

My last white toploader one for low gears retailed at $45! RIP OFF.

A gear shouldn't cost more than $15-20 for an auto.

reece1 : Glides excellent definately was worth while doing. The car feels like it pulls loads harder and going by the seat'o'pants meter it's a substancially faster too.

I can still cruise around like I did with the C4. I cruise/plod around @ 2000 at roughly 50kph in top gear with the 5200rpm convertor. I've driven it as much as I could between fitting some new parts to it.

My opinion : The people who didn't recommend it have no idea how good it is. I highly recommend it.

I took xbwgn and Falcon Coupe for a spin on my street tyres. I still have to nurse the tyres but they aint that bad. I've got the car rev limited to 6000rpm on the street. We had no trouble accelerating stupidly fast up to the 6000rpm limit in top gear. Gives you that shoving feeling all the way to the 6000rpm limit.

I'm at the strip soon for some testing. So we'll see how we go. [edit] I'm sure it'll surprise a few people once I've strip tested it.

I spent a whole week chasing down a new speedo gear from FORD ( yes they are still available brand new for @ 15 bucks ) and now I find out about this screw !!!!!!!!!!!

TruBlu351 you are a wealth of knowledge. I'm gonna mess with the screw tomorrow to see if it works.............

Amazing the knowledge you find here. No one has ever mentioned this screw before.................how did you find out ???????????
