hey guys
hope u guys can help me.
i have a 1800 stally in my C4 but i want 2 put my 3000 stall in it,my diff is 9'' wif 3:25 gears at the moment,my cam cuts in about 3000-3200 will that benift if i put the bigger stally in me or not?? i also have 4:11 gears too

what should i do??????

If it's a 4.1, be careful how high you go in your stall speed , because you could have a small power band. If it's an 8 and makes good power up high(maybe to 6000rpm), then the car will certainly go quite a bit better with the 3000 stall. Running 4.11s with a 3000 will be overkill for the street. I would also think that the 3000/3.25 combo would be much better than the 1800/4.11 combo. If you do'nt already have an auto oil cooler, I would suggest to run one with the 3000 stall.

You want to match the stall speed to your power output. Most torque converter places will calculate the correct stall speed if you give them the vehicle specs and power graph etc.

If you want to run the 4.11's then I'd suggest you'll need power from 3000-6500+ or they'll actually hurt your performance (I can vouch for this first hand).

Have you had the engine dynoed? If your making your power between 3000 and 6000, but not higher, then its probably best to aim for a 3.7:1 and run the 3000 stall. If your making good torque below 3000 i'd stick with the 1800 converter and go for a 3.3 - 3.5:1 ratio... that way you'll get to enjoy your engine's torque.

the motor is in a xd it revs 2 about 6500 at the momment witch is stupid and thats with a 1800 stall my power seems 2 cut in at 3000rpm and go to bout 6500,but before i get there it bogs and then goes A-wall and its running a 9" with 3:25's??????

maybe i need to do cam?? stall???

I'd be looking at gears 1st. Then decide on histall. A cam that comes in at 3000rpm and stops around 6500rpm would be suited to a 3000rpm histall and 4.11 gears.

maybe i shoud put my 4:11's in and leave the stall as 1800?? or my 3000 stall with the 3:25's or go up to 3:55's or 3:85's??? dunno maybe try different combos???
