i have replaced my ef v8 diff rebuilt with 3.9 gears and i tight lsd and its not holding up very well. i heard of 9 inch diffs being fitted to e series any one done it before.

You can fit a 9" but it involves a lot of work. The 9" weighs a lot and sucks a lot more power compared with the BW too. It is unusual for the BW to not hold up, they are more than capable of handling 300kw+ without problems. What power are you putting out?

What do you mean by not holding up ??

What sort of rear wheel power are you putting out ??
More importantly what sort of abuse are you hurling at the diff.

Are you breaking axles or pinions or is the diff just getting clunky and noisy.
Sometimes a BAD rebuild can make you think you've got 600 rear wheel horsepower.

I had to take my diff back to Central Diffs in Melbourne 4 times before they got it half right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A 9 inch conversion may solve your reliability and strength issues but it may unbalance the car. There is approx 80 kg more unsprung weight in a 9 inch conversion than your current set up.

If you're really serious and legitimately need a bulletproof diff, ask about a KAZ upgrade. This is some really serious hardware that can be a bit noisy for street driving but absolutely bulletproof. I'm pretty sure the KAZ centre can be installed in the BW housing. They need to be bed in properly so make sure you ask the diff place on how to do this. I've heard you need to drive in figure 8's for 20 mins one way and then 20 mins the other. The oil then needs to be drained and re filled and then you're ready to go go go.......................

thanks it must off just been a shity rebuild
