Hey all
When i shift quickly from 2nd to 3rd above 3000 rpm it crunches, and i have to slowly change, but under 3 g's it fine, does anyone have the same problem or if not can anyone offer some suggestions???

The 2-3 cluster gear is renowned for being weak and the synchros aren't much better. Try double clutching or you're up for a synchro replacement.

Have you tried changing to a synthetic high quality oil yet?

Yup, new balk rings for your 2-3 synchro assembly should do the trick... If I was you I'd go for the entire assembly, no point in replacing just the rings.

Yep, nothing like replacing $900 worth of componantry when $80 worth will fix it.

Personally I know I'd just change the synchros :)
Although while the box was out I'd inspect it all, and probably end up doing the bearings too at $550

i did all that i got 2-3 and 3-4 synchros and a bearing averhaul kit, this is what fustrated me because before ut wouldnt go in2 3rd at all and now if i want to change a little quicker than a 90y.o granny, it crunches

Did you inspect the drive dogs for damage, and did you get the preload correct?

I have the exact same problem in my EL XR6. Will fitting that SVO 'Lightning' replacement shift assmbly fix this?

No. No shifter will make any difference to the actual internal operation of the box. Short throw units will probably exagerate any shift baulk problems.
