Bit new around here and not a mechanic by far so thats why im here.
I need some advice on clutch set up and shifter set up on my T-5 which has been installed in a ac cobra replica (plastic fantastic ) which currently has a hydraulic LH Torana or GM clutch system.
The T-5 is a mustang T-5.
Im wanting to firstly know whats the best short shifter to put on to the T-5 B&M or a PRO 5.0 or any other suggestions??
And secondly whats better...a hydraulic clutch or a cable clutch set-up??? I have been having some trouble with the master cylinder on the clutch cracking seals all the time and its such a pain in the ass to repair which ive done twice so its time to fix it! Personally i would like to do away with the hydraulic clutch set up.
The fact that you are popping master seals tells me that something is set-up wrong...probably the length of the pushrod. It is most likely too short allowing it to come back too far..it only takes a mil or two.
