Guys just a quick question, i can get my hands on a cheap T5 and everything else i need to convert from auto to manual. Would it be easier/ideal to get a manual ecu, rather than rewire the auto ecu?

I have the re-wired auto ECU in mine (wired to be constantly in neutral I believe) and have had no problems. But I hear that there are extra 'features' in the manual ECU so it is ideal. I don't know what the differences are in any detail.

I have ran both an auto & manual ECU's in the EA after the conversion and the major difference I noticed was idle patterns. Besides that, the differences are not very substantial, and not worth spending big $$ on.
