Question Toploader oil type or grade

After converting my ea to a toploader gearbox, i have a little problem. No auto shop can tell me what grade of oil goes in it. Is it auto trans oil or a light gear oil or heavy gear oil. Any experienced old ford fanatics out there can you help me?

Definitely not ATF.
Use a fairly heavy grade gear oil, say 80/90 or so.

Rick.

Ford XB Falcon Repair Manual states that the Ford Four Speed Transmission (Top Loader) requires 1.85 litres (3.25 Imp. Pints) of SAE 80 ESW-MC2-83B Oil.

If that's the case, make sure you use a single grade 80 oil and not 80w-something. A bit of G2 moly additive probably wouldn't hurt either (in mineral oil).
