Does anyone know what is considered normal amount of revs for a torque convertor in a C4 to flare?

What I mean is under full throttle I back off and though the vehicle speed stays the same, the revs drop about 1400-1800. Seems a bit excessive to me.

It is a C4 full manual valve body, modded clutches etc and 3500 stall convertor behind a approx 280 RWKW motor.

Seems to me I would get more power to the ground with less flare/waste in the convertor. Maybe another brand of convertor?

3500 is a fairly high stall for the road when u take foot off does the revs drop below the stall of converter, if so that is normal
