trans/converter oil flow

what way does the oil flow in a c4 in regards to converter / oil cooler / sump (pan)
ie does it go to converter from the sump then cooler then trans

im askingas ive installed a high stall and then changed the filter and there was dirt and rocks and crap in the pan and filter- i bought it from a wreckers and i gathjer it got in there at the wreckers

I can't recall which way the oil flows as I've never really throught about anything but keeping the fluid cool and clean.

I'd be checking that fluid again within a short period of time.

You are correct.It goes from pump to convertor to cooler out the front line and then returns in the rear line for the lube circuit.

thanks fellas,
i will be checkin it soon also
ive got a cooler which ive had for a while , should i still use the cooler in the radiator or bypass this all together?
