1st to 2nd "clunk" 2nd to third "clunk" but not as bad 3rd to 4th pretty smooth

was wondering why the trans would be sticking instead of changing down gears. it's really only bad with full accelaration. had it serviced recently and the fluid was like dirty engine oil. it's BEEN serviced by ford it's entire life, plus the owner before me was and old guy, who i knew never drove it hard. not happy. i have a unichip installed also, but thats been in there for 3 months. could this change the shiffting of the transmission in anyway?

Sounds like one or more faulty shift solenoids.

When the trans was serviced, was the rear bush (where tail shaft yoke goes int trans) checked?
Those bushes are very common to wear excessively and cause clunky shifts.
