G'day guys,

Got a wee bit of a problem with my transmission :(

Symptoms:
Gears 1 through to 2 is fine
When changing to the 3rd gear, it revs out to about 3750 before it hits fourth
and fourth gear basically runs at 3grand doing 80kmph

Probable cause:
Putting into neutral without realising cruise control was on (rev'd out), then putting it back into drive without thinking (probably a mistake)

Did a quick ECU reset.. was about the only thing i could think of doing besides RAC. The RAC guy said could be an electrical/computer thing as he reckons my speedo is out and possible correlation between the two.

Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Ok guys, still not sure what the problem is, but the kind people at my Ford dealership are fixing the problem under the extended warranty I took out when I bought the car.

Best damn $1400 i've ever spent.

p.s must be a hell of a comprehensive warranty for 1400 knickers!

yeah well i got talked into a 3 year extended warranty (very thankfull for that now!) for $1390, list as ford premium care on my receipt.

Will have to wait about a week at least before they get the required part/parts in and get them fitted, so i'm without a car til about then, but with the rate fuel is atm, thats a bit of a god send

All the same, as soon as I find out what the problem was, I'll certainly let you all know.

woah sorry for the late reply! Never found out in the end, but it all got fixed

very smooth now with the new transmission, only wished they could've installed a manual instead
