Hello guys i bought a car in november and it just came outta rego. it needs alot for road worthy so i was planning to wait. One problem is its still in his name so if he makes a transfer slip can the car be transfered in my name as unregisterd and without road worthy or can i just hand in the plates for him as he lives HELLA far from me lol.

Not sure about Vic but in NSW, you have 3 months to get a pinkslip same as a road worthy i think you loose the 3 months rego but it save you from getting a Blue slip (the pits).

Im sure Vic roads has a simlar set up
