I know this has been brought up before but my car has no transmission cooler (3spd) and sometimes on long drives it gets quite warm at the base of the selector. What are the major advantages of a transmission cooler and is it worth it at $300?

Also has anyone fitted electric fans? Worth the money for around $200?

$300?? shit no Sydney speed aupplies has QH coolers suit 6 cylinders for $50 brand new...check out your local stores.
I will be fitting one soon as my 3 speed gets a little warm as you said on long trips..which is basically to the shop for me ( country NSW )

Anything that makes the trans run cooler is worth it, but $300 for the cooler is a bit much. Shop around.

you can get them fitted for $100-$220 depending on the size of it and 6 or 8 ..

(if u need a place in syd drop me a line)

i have a tranny cooler plus a fan on, fan got put on since i had no front end when changing to xr front over..

i noticed my box stays cooler and drives smoother, not a huge difference, but noticable for my shiftkit (ef 4spd auto)

94-ed-f.. pretty smooth actually.. not rough at all.

but that could be also due to having 17x8 wheels too .. but its fairly smooth, will get 1st-2nd spings often enuff if needed
