Hey guys!
Have some annoying problems with my Ford Scorpio ´95 (manual). When
coming to a stop (red light for example) & pressing down the clutch the engine drops down in revs, like it should, but it ends up dying on me before I reach stop (during neutral and rolling up to the stop). I cant get it, what makes it do this.

Somehow (which makes it even more strange) is that if I step on the brake and very rapidly stop the car - the revs comes back up and it doesnt die.


- Any of you guys had similar problems, maybe with other Fords?
- What could any repair solutions be?


I am desparate!

Check your vacuum hoses to carby especially the idle control valve. If you've moved the motor to get access, which if its front wheel drive you will have, you may have put the vaccum hoses on the wrong part of manifold eg lower or higher vacuum than necessary casuing actuating valves to either stay open when they should be shut or vice versa or a hose may be off which causes the engine to loose vaccuum and stall. Hope that helps
