I have an EB v8 and when the cars gets to high revs it vibrates in every gear, like if i put my foot down, when 1st gear reaches high revs it vibrates, and the same thing for every other gear. I have no idea what is vibrating, could it be the gearbox, the diff, the tailshft, bearing, i dont know, it doesnt happen at certain speeds its always high revs when moving.
The vibrating isnt a big vibration but enough to annoy me and make me worry about my car. any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the harmonic balancer? I doubt it is the driveline from the gearbox back that is causing your problem, let us know how u go?

its not really coming from the engine, it definetly sounds like its coming from around the gearbox area or behind. i know this sounds dumb but whats a harmonic balancer.

Is it when it is under load at low revs aswell? or only at high revs?

The harmonic balancer is the pulley on the front of the crankshaft that provides the power to run the belt. It's made up of three pieces. There's the steel inner part, which bolts to the crankshaft; there's a rubber sleeve around that which dampens crankshaft vibrations; and then there's the outer steel part, which has grooves for the belt.

i had this same problem in my 4.1EFI XF. as soon as you got to 2400rpm and above i got a HUGE vibration through the car which i thought might have been caused by uni's or engine mounts...turns out the main & big end bearings where completely stuffed! i have just replaced them and putting the engine in tonight so i should know later in the week how it goes.

does it knock on start up?

no it doesnt knock on start up, and the vibrations arent huge.

Is the car lowered? You could be experiencing the same mysterious vibration some of us are getting from lowered E-series Fords. The diff top arms are shorter than the lower arms so as it moves closer to the body the diff rotates the pinion nose down slightly. I believe the pinion angle is to blame.
