OK Im a fool but I drained the dif and only bought 1 litre of replacement. Its 5pm sat and auto one is closed and I had to urgently go 3km (return)to pick up my kids with 1 litre in the dif. I didnt use any power and nothing over 50kph. Reckon I did damage?

I can get some more tomorrow but what is the capacity. I poured the drained stuff back in to one litre bottle but I had spilled a fair bit and there was a soaked rag in the tray as well as perhaps 150 ml which didnt fit back in to 1 litre container. Im guessing 1.3 -1.4 litres is capacity.

Haven't you got the owners manual?
My normal V8 diff takes 1.65 litres.

Specification: Mobil SHC 80W - 140 ID.
Capacity: 1.6 Litres

Put castrol in couldnt find mobil . its 70w 140 synthetic. Thanks for the capacity confirmation. im obviously quite a way down.wonder what time auto one opens on a sunday. Man its a pain to get diff oil in. Have to use a little bottle with a hose on spout

If you are going to do this on a regualr basis, buy an <b>oil suction gun</b>, sucks it out, squirts the new stuff in, the one I got holds 1/2 litre.

Further to my previous post - there was a further update to the Rear axle oil requirements for T-Series issued May 2002 as follows:

Specification: ESZ-M2C190-A
Oil: Mobilube SHC1D 1.5 Litres
Sturaco 7098 Friction Modifier 100 ml

If you have anything else in then get rid of it ASAP.

Your local Ford delaer should have both.
