I have a 1997 F150 4X4 ext cab V8. There is a weird vibration in the trans when it shifts into overdrive. It sometimes does this and sometimes it doesnt. Can anybody help.

What type of transmission is it? BTR ZF they all have different characteristics. I know that some have a metal rod that engauges overdrive and that this is prone to friction cracks resulting in a slurring motion into overdrive.
Where would i find out what size trans i have, I know its a heavy duty trans because it has the tow package and has a trans cooler in the front. But dont know what tpye.
