I have been doing some research as to what gears can be put onto the Ford BW diff center (XF-EL).
Basically, the diff gear set out of the VL will need to have the pinyon gear modified to fit into the Ford BW housing.
Has anyone here had a gear machined up?
Any info on which side(bearing/shaft side, or face/gear side), and how much of the gear needs to be taken off will be a great help.
Also, there is no need to suggest using Xr 3.45's, not interested.
Thanks!!

only vl 6`s were 3.45. all 8`s are 3.08
the gears for the vl & xr falcons are the same. if you want 3.9 lift them out of a Nissan Pintara.
Think about this one. i have in my xp falcon a chrysler centura diff, xd lsd centre and vl 3.45 diff gears with the centura flange using xy brakes.

Why use such a narrow combination range? My diff has an XG housing, ED backing plates, VN axles, VS limited slip, AU ABS sensor rings, VQ ABS sensors, VT FRONT brakes and 4.11 gears!
