yeah ive got an xe with the 250xflo... want the diff locked i was just wondering how long it takes for one of the axles to go because they are only 25 splines, will the 28spline axles out of the lsd's fit in ?

the 28 spline axle will probably last a bit longer, but minispools have NO give in them do the job properly and put a tuff LSD in it, mini spools are for going in straight lines only, you might as well weld the diff together and get ready to be replacing the axles every weekend

except for the factory 351XE ESP no XE came with 28 spline axles.
All LSD diffs in the XE series were 25 spline axles and single pinion carrier...apart from the exception above.

You can however retro fit the carrier, centre and axles from the EF EL series falcs in the XE housing. These axles are slightly wider than the XE 25 spline axles so the wheels sit @2mm or thereabouts further out.

Why do you want a locked diff ?????????

25 spline axles are tougher than most think. I had them on the ESP for ages and had no issues......even with heaps of burnouts. My problem was with the carrier / Crown wheel and pinion.

yeah i no about minispools my other car's diff is locked, ive been driving with it for ova a year its a 28spline borgwarner ( 5L vl) havnt snapped an axle yet! i was just wondering how long the 25spline diffs last being not as strong ?
