Hi I was wondering if someone could reccomend the best diff ratio for XW/XY model with a 351 and c4 auto in it.

I want something that fries em up when you want to but still has a reasonable top speed and fuel economy.

My brother just fitted 3.7:1 to his VK commodore, it lights em up but his at max speed around 170/180 and to top it off it is reving pretty high just at normal speed of like 120km/h which means quite thirsty.

Anyway hope you can help

Mild engine and a 3.54 diff will do nicely. Won't hit hard on the hip pocket for fuel either if tuned right.

Sometimes the higher ratios can help fuel economy on the highway because they require less throttle to maintain a given speed, especially if you encounter alot of hills.

What model diff it is,is it a 9inch or BW, I'd say 3.50 ratio.

9 inch for sure, is there a 3:45 diff????????

9" doesnt have 3.45, however it has a 3.5:1 ratio which would be a good compromise gearset
