Yes I'm sure. Ask if you can have a part number from this so called t-38? Also ask if it is still a top loading gearbox. If not they maybe giving you a T-45 which is used in current mustangs. This is an end loader design(like a T-56 6spd) but is actually only similar in torque capacity to a T-5.
As far as I know Borg warner has sold it's manual gearbox side off to Tremec. Hence, you get all these guys carrying on about getting a "Tremec T-5" as if it's some super tough gearbox...it's not!

So my advice is ask these questions and get an actual part number that you can cross reference. If they are dodgy you may get you car back and find they stuck a poxy supra 5 spd in it!?
