Will Powerglide fit in 66 Mustang?

I have a 66 Mustang, with a 351w, LHD. Will a Powerglide fit in the tunnel, without mods, apart from the usual bellhousing/crossmember changes?

It should , but why not use a c4 or better which offers an extra gear and will be quicker /
