Hi guys, my question is how hard to fit a xc v8 c4 trans into my xf ghia as i have a good c4 from a v8 xc and i plan to turbo the xflow 250 and i doubt the old bw 40 will survive long when pushed hard.
You can use it ..The V8 c4 will have the bellhousing mounted with 5 bolts extra to the pump mount bolts.
You will need to get a 6 cyl bellhousing, convertor and flexplate..The 6 cyl bell bolts to the pump mount bolts which will need to be longer. All else will fit up the same
Thanks gregaust i was hoping it was the same casing as its easier to strengthen a C4 than a bw. the other option is a single rail 4speed as i have 2 of these sitting in the shed but i dont think they would handle the torque of a turbo 250.

"Apparently" you can also use Windsor V8 Torque Converters for a C4 in a 6 Cylinder housing. So if you cant find a 6 Cylinder one, also can use a Windsor V8 one
