Hi All,
I recently purchased an XC 9 inch LSD disc brake diff.
I would like to have it converted to suit my coil spring XE falcon.
So i searched the forum here and found quite a bit of negative feedback on "XE 9 inch diff conversion" topic.
Is the conversion worth the headache, and what are the major problems.
Any recommendations for coversions in Sydney?

Stock swaybar wont fit, have to get custom one, they are the same price as a std replacement swaybar but be sure to ask for one to suit 9".

The easiest way is to cut the axle tubes off both the diffs you have and fit the XE tubes onto the 9" centre section. I'm not sure which brakes you would run, but using XE/F disks would suit the XE's handbrake, although you may need a different handbrake cable if you had drums? not exactly sure.

Also I think with the 9" you need to shorten the tailshaft, with the std shaft and a 9 my car had only 5mm or so slip which isn't enough, and eventually it got stuck into the box, and I broke a uni.

But am not sure the mounts are the same.

he has done quite a few diffs for me and ive had no troubles and he does alot of 9inch conversions , the last one he done for me was a 9plus housing with superier billet axles for $1750.00 ,

you will have to get another tail shaft if you use a 9"
