Question XE EFI Manual

Hi all,

I have a question in regards to the XE EFI Manual Falcons. I want to find out what the code on the computer is on the 5 speed manuals (if they came out 5 speed). I have just fitted a 5 speed manual into my TE Cortina which has a EFI motor which came from a ZK Fairlane (same vintage as XE). The problem is that the car is now running rough (due to having the auto computer) and I need to find out the code for the computer. The code for the computer I have is 83DA-12A651-AA. Any help will be greatly appreciated. You can email me at corty80@yahoo.com
Thanks, and go FORD go.

The only 5speed XEs were Carbed 3.3L I6.

But you could get 4speed XE 4.1L EFIs.

What you will have to do is join a couple of wires (cant think off the top of my head) so that it tricks the comp into thinking it has an auto.....the only difference between auto an man on XE's is a few wires. the computers are the same

Do I really have to write something funny in here?

XE EFI

Thanks eveyone for your reply, as for the performance of my cortina, at the moment it doesn't fly, and this is due to the computer, but I can feel that it wants to go, it just holding back. Well looks like I will have to keep trying. I tried FORD but they were no help either.

are all the sensors hooked up correctly?
Are there any vacuum leaks?
and are the sensors working properly?

this could be a good starting point if you havent already done it.
