I have a LSD diff from my XF ute and am wondering how hard it would be to put the diff centre into a 6 cylinder cortina.
has anyone done this? mine is LSD and low ratio (being from a ute) so it would be helpful for my takeoff and acceleration.

I put a diff from an ED XR6 (3.23, 28spline) and it worked a treat! Got rear discs as a bonus. Cost about $350 to get it bracketed and shortened for the corty, and I needed a new axle as one was just the wrong size to be cut down because of the taper behind the splines. Made it accelerate a lot quicker!!

Yeah XR diff's were 3.45:1, but I think the first ones were optioned with a 3.27:1.

I can't see why the gears can't be swapped. You'll have to set up the centre though. It's easier to get a shop to do it.
