Got a burning oil smell every time I drove my te50 moderately hard the last 10 days or so. Today I see a dark stain of burnt on oil on the underside of the exhaust as im looking under there at my swaybar. The diff filler bolt is loose and leaking at 3500km so watch it.

By the way what is the reccomended fluid so i can top it up as the owners manual doesnt seem to contain useful info like this?

All V8's should use Mobil SHC 1D (80w/140). That's what the workshop manual says, so that must be the one.

I wonder if checking that bolt is on the dealers pre-delivery inspection?

I had exactly the same problem with my AUII XR8. The oil was running down the diff tag then dripping onto the exaust. I doubt that you would have lost enough to need a top up
