XT cleveland manual conversion

hey, i was thinking of converting my XT with a 302 cleveland, and a C10 auto to a 4 speed manual. how much work is involved???? does anyone know how much it will cost, if i do all the work myself????

it's a fairly big job but not too hard.
You will need
pedal box
clutch master and slave cyl
Hydraulic line for the above.
Gearbox ( single rail or top loader )
bellhousing
Flywheel
cover plate
Clutch assembly
transmission hump
plus all nuts and bolts.
Possibly a new starter or at least a manual spacer for the starter.
Best bet is to find a manual car and get the lot and take what you need.
Cost depends on what you want recoed or new. I would recommend getting whatever you can new, then recoed followed by 2nd hand. It's a royal PITA to have to go back under the car to fix something that failed.
I did the XA for ~$1000 but it took me ages to get the bits together and I did it all myself so no labour cost at all.

Also probably need the correct tailshaft too!

tail shafts are interchagable, at least in the 2 conversions I did ...

cool, thanks guys, i think ill do it, but how long roughly would it take to do if i got all the parts i needed right away?

i'm still seriously considering doing the conversion. does anyone have any parts for sale that i might need?
