Xy diff

Hey, I read the tag on my diff and it said it's ratio was 2.93, is this standard? what kind of difference would there be if I went to 3.45?

Re: Xy diff

Fuel economy would be worse, the acceleration would be a lot better! Also, if you didn't update the speedo gear, your speedo would be out as well.

Re: Xy diff

And yeah, 2.93 sounds like a standard ratio, or very close to one to me.

Re: Xy diff

i'd assume the speedo is updated by a gear change on the end of the speedo cable. Probably about $15

XC Falcon Sedan, monza red/jet black, 351C, twin 2.25" zorst, T5 V8-spec with CRS bell-housing, AU thermofans, 3.23 LSD diff, dual fuel, rally-pack spec, black/red interior, cruise control, sports seats, 17x8 ROH Drift-R's.

Re: Xy diff

when changing the diff on an XY, is it the same sort of process as changing it on a newer model falcon? or do you have to change more stuff?
