Doug and I whacked it in in less than 3 hours yesterday at NeedFordSpeed's house (Gilly). His Dad has every single tool and a nice 3 car garage which made life very easy.

Along with the diff we:

-Changed rear pads
-Changed rear calipers
-Changed front pads
-Found a mounting bracket for a trailing arm loose so tightened it to FT
-Put good set of trailing arms in with good bushes (Selby lower and Pedders upper)
-Tightened all trailing arms and linkages to FT

Well it goes awesome! Pulls a bit harder but I can't really tell how hard until I put some Petrol in a get the mixer out, but it's definitely pulling harder. Oh, and the minor detail....it gets very good sideways in first and then in to second :D Especially in this weather.

The rear end feels a whole lot tighter with everything absolutely tight, and the trailing arm mount fixed. About 50% of the bolts weren't tight enough. We greased and cleaned every bush and mounting thing as well. The back end feels 90% with the program now and there isn't as much noise as there used to be.

Now the problem I got no brakes :o( We let the master cylinder run dry and the bleeding didn't do crap. The pedal has to be at the floor to get any effect at all. I've been to some mechanics today. Two of the mechanics reckon a pressure bleed will solve the problem and one thinks I'll need to d/c the lines from the master cylinder pump the fluid through, connect and then bleed all brakes again. Not fun but I think I might just pay them to do it.

Total cost:
-Diff came with Frog Racer, so almost nothing.
-Trailing arms came with Frod racer.
-Calipers with Blue EA S-Pack wreck before Frog racer.
-Pads which were 95% came with Blue EA S-Pack
-High Performance Brake Fluid $9
-Piston resetting tool for EA-ED $25. MoParts people wanted $62 for this and Repco wanted $40. Gilly did some smart talking and got the price down to $24.80 with a staff discount. Ask him what he did, it was funny shit.

So all up so far about $35.

I think we broke the record too, just under 3 hours. That was with a lot of quotes from the movie Chopper Great movie that one eh? :D

Hmm yeah bugger bout the brakes. When we did robs diff we were using his calipers so we just left the brakelines and calipers in there so we didnt have ti stuff round bleeding them.

Ahh, a bit of smartness and a lot of Doug, Gilly and I trying not to laugh. He had his mate's Repco employee number, so he pretended to be him and got us a discount. We were quite surprised when it worked, it took a lot to not laugh. We're pros in fraud though

The Repco guy must've though that Gilly was the only Indian in Australia named Toby

Keep trying with the bleeding as the master cylinder emptying shouldn't worry anything.
You might need to pump the pedal a lot while the bleeder valves are open, then shut, bleed, etc, etc.
It won't need pressure bleeding.

Well it's booked in for pressure bleed at 4PM. If you ask a mechanic to 'check' your car they are dicks. If you ask them to 'fix' your car they will gladly roll up their sleeves and have a geez under your bonnet. If they think you're going to go home and use what they found in their own 'check' to fix your car they refuse to look at it.

I'm paying $50 for a pressure bleed.

My car's leaking shitloads of brake fluid around the master cylinder and brake booster now. I think that's from driving it around to mechanics without having bled (sp?) the system. I don't know how that works though. Just in-case I'm taking a spare master cylinder (one of 2 have lying around in my garage surprise surprise) to the guy.

Bloody good way to waste $50 from my re-spray fund. Bad luck is always raining down on me. Bloody student and non-paid worker in a family business trying to save some cash with a EA is impossible!

Unfortunatly, i think the EA is the main problem. While i had mine, i never modded it in anyway, apart from stereo, but i still had to fork out close to 1.5k on things for it. Unfortunatly this shit just happens. Ohwell, your still only young, and your car is in probably alot better state then mine was at your age, so your new paint job aint that far away.

Alright $50 later and it's fixed. Only after the dick dropped the jack handle on the RHR quarter and didn't seat the springs properly causing one to 'pop' back in to place around a round-about and freak me out.

I'm going to re-seat the springs again and adjust my hand-brake soon as it's still engaged when the handle is down, which means I have further acceleration to un-lock and longer sideways action!
