I have been having an intermittent fault with my Fiesta, its happened about 4 times in all, two times in the last month or so. The car seems to loose all power, knocking out the brakes and strearing..on the milage screen it flashes up 'EAC Fail' does anyone know what this error means or what the problem is?? If i turn the car off for 10 seconds then restart it seems to be okay. When the car went in for its service i mentioned it to the dealer but they couldn't find anything wrong?

Hi there.

You dont say what year your fiesta is, but by the symptoms its probibly '02-'04?
EAC stands for electronic accelerator control-related to the accelerator pedal and fly-by-wire accelerations system.

Cures varied from a simple ECU update to a ECU replacement, depending what combination of fault codes you have stored.

I would take it back to the dealer and ask them to note for you which codes you have stored-you WILL have some.

Once you have them it should be easy to determine what course of action is required.
