This 1969 f 100 Truck 302 engine has been setting up for over ten years and I changed oil plug wires new gas and filters new Holley carb etc etc,The problem is when I just touch the Gas pedal the engine Rises very high and stays there for over 5 senconds before it comes back down to normal Idle? , could this be the something Bad in my Distritor diafram ? and Im running my vacuam hose into the passenger front side of the Holley carb can someone help me with this strange problem Please

Your vacumn for the dist. needs to be hooked to the ported line, with the engine running, unpug the vacumn from the dist., if the idle changes, and you can feel the vacumn on the line, it is the wrong port. The port for the dist. will not have vacumn at idle.
