hey sorry if this is in the wrong bit, im new to the site. i have just recently bought a 1997 Ford falcon EL Futura, its had nothing done to it body and performance wise. i was wondering if anyone could give me some help as to what to put in the car to give it a bit more grunt on the sound and the performance. i have $3500.. i dont really know a great deal about cars/ car parts no the basic parts eg brakes clutch diff pistons and that. but yeh any tips on what to put in ther and roughly the cost of it and an explnation of what it does would be extreamly helpful.. again sorry if this isnt in the right spot im new..

Grab yourself a K&N filter for it.

Exhaust wise.. Get some extractors and a 2.5inch exhaust from cat back. Most exhasut shops with modify the standard cat as on a NA 6cylinder, sometimes a Hi-flow cat wont be effective as they are smaller than factory. A new exhaust will make it sound sweet. But make sure the exhaust is mandrel bend so it doesnt drone when you are on a freeway.

Also would recommend having it lowered a touch. Prob about 1.5-2.5inches to make it look proportioned. My EL sat like a boat and I regret not lowering it. Being such a long car it'll look great lowered.

Brakes.. through some slotted discs on it with some good pads (Bendix Advance). This way you wont have to change the callipers, and they work well.

Its been a while since I had my EL, but the break down on parts was like this.

K&N Air filter - $120 (Filter is rechargable and wont need replacing, just re-oiling)

Exhaust - about $800-$1000 (Extractors, 2.5in exhaust, plus labour)

Brakes - $150 per front disc, $80 pads

Not sure on these prices, but it gives you some sort of idea.
