1999 Grand Marquis sometimes wont start..... - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hey guys my girlfriend has a 99 Grand Marquis. Every now and then (usually when its below half a tank of gas) the motor will start then immediately die. If she holds the gas down and starts it, it will stay running. Other times she has to wait 5-10 minutes before it will start it. Im not a ford guy so if anyone has any input as to what this could be, I would appreciate it. thank you

Well today the car stalled while driving. The wheel locked and she had to press the brakes, stop the car and restart it. If anyone has any ideas i would greatly appreciate it. I dont want her to get into an accident someday from it stalling. Thanks!

When you say the wheel locked, do you mean the steering wheel? If so did it actually lock or just become real hard to turn because of loss of power steering? The rest of the description is pretty vague. A lot of possibilities here.
I would check fuel pump, fuel pressure, and fuel filter.
