I am going to find and buy a pre-efi Econoline. I hope to get one with o/d, preferably manual tranny.

should I get a 300 6, or would the 302 be a better mill for combined hwy/city driving a 6000lb truck: Gas economy is more important than speed in this case.

I would appreciate opinions from people who may have tried and compared both engines in similar applications.:

If emissions isn't of any concern, I'd stick with the I6, for lower cost of maintenance and possibly better mileage. If you can find a van with a 3.73 rear axle or taller you've got it made as far as fuel economy goes!
