Re: 351 Boss
The original Boss351 released in 71 Mustang was a performance version of a Cleveland engine - similar to 4 bolt GTHO spec
You can make the equivalent of a Boss 302 for a 351W by using a 351W bottom end and Cleveland 4V heads. They are generally known as Clevors and you require a range of custom parts, such as the inlet manifolds
As anyone with a 4V Cleveland will tell you - they have nothing below 2500rpm and then they take off like a scalded cat - same with Clevor
You can get a better and cheaper combination with a 351W and alloy heads or 351C and alloy 3V head
Here's a recommendation from someone who built one
there's a tonne more to it than just bolting them on. Nevermind the custom intake, you need special head gaskets, pushrod's, rocker's, exhaust manifolds, etc etc etc... My advice?
Buy a set of windsor heads. You'll be alot happier in the long run
