351 price

G'day all!

My mechanic says he will get me a 302 or 351 complete from radiator to diff with a 9 inch and c4 or similar for around $2000. My question is what sort of condition would you expect it all to be in for that sort of money? From what hes said it sounds like it will all be okay stuff and work well but i cant help but feel this sounds really cheap.

Or am i being paranoid coz i might be getting a genuine good deal, haha

If it does sound cheap to you guys as well what sort of price do you think i should be paying for a decent stock setup? I'm just after a good setup to build on bit by bit as i get the dosh.

Thanks guys

Aaron

for a 302 it's actually expensive.. unless that includes installation!! for that priceI would expect a 351 in good nick.. definitely a 9 inch and EVERYTHING required to fit it..
You could buy a running 351 XB/C or fairlaine LTD for less and have all the bits required.

Thanks guys,

So you all think this sounds like a pretty regular price considering all the stuff is in good condition and i'm getting a 351?

I think hes going to put it in included in that 2 grand.

Whats the most fule effecient kind of carb to use with a stock 351 apart from warmer cam and decent headers/exhaust?

thanks guys

Aaron

351

For a fully remanafactured GEM 351 installed in place of a very tired 302 and with warranty etc, $2730. If you have a 351 in place already $2430. This is a long motor, so you need carb and manifold, dizzie, exhaust etc. I just got one, very smooth, and strong down low.
