From 4.1 to ........?

A friend has a XF ute with a 4.1 carby motor.

Now it is time for a new motor.

Now keep in mind she wants good power, efficiency and doesnít want to spend too much.

So I proposed:-

EB-ED 4.0 with auto
EF-ED 4.0 with auto
Or
5.8 Clevo with F IOD trans

Re: From 4.1 to ........?

I voted other as I think an efi 5.0 windsor with 4sp auto would be pretty good...

Going by cost - the 5.0 conversion wouldn't be much more mucking around than going the 4.0 route...

You may have to run LPG on the clevo to get it legally rego'd. Is LPG an option??

I would go the ED engine, good quick engines, and should bolt in easy.

Re: From 4.1 to ........?

might be best off selling the XF and buying an XG... or buying a wrecked XG and converting it all into the XF.

If upgrading, get a cheap XF motor and drop that in to help increase the value of it as it sounds like it needs replacing.
